Another Decade Another Dollar by CineSource
January 2010, wow, what a starT! First off, Bright Pictures / NY was in town for a whooping seven-day "Honda" shoot in just 2 weeks. Very reminiscent of the 70s and 80s big commercial campaigns. Vieve Haag / PM and Jorge Salgado / PC were at the helm of the project that traveled from SF to Mendocino to Tahoe and back to SF.
Next up, good buddy Raub Shapiro, of Bad Company / SF, filmed a few scenes for a spec feature film he's trying to hustle. Smuggler / LA shooting a promo for the "USA Network," hired PC Bob Henningsen as the local production point person. Jof Hanwright of Scout 911 was the location manager on a Ford still shoot in week one. Then Hollywood came to town mid-week, GT Films (aka Clint Eastwood's company), shot for his upcoming film "Hereafter." (Clint went to high school here in Oak-town, by the by.) Texas Production Company ("Try the Veal,") was on the bay working on some political spots with PM Maya Owings helping them along. Whew, what a week.
Week 2: Director of Texas and the "Queen of Production," "Angela Frisbie for "Novalis". Production company Hillmancurtis / NY was in town for an "IBM" shoot. Michele Dennis and Lauri Clark were the local production folks. James Raymond / PM worked with Pedersen Media Group / SF on an Intel job, that rounded out week 2.
LA's MJZ came in for a big Merrill Lynch" shoot, along with them came rain, rain, and more rain. Local Krista Ruet truly weathered the storm. They got all the shots they came for and Ranahan got 6 new pop-up tents, hahaha. Greg Freeman of Freeman Productions started working on a "MTV" epic, 3 months coast to coast - good luck on that one. Heather Weyand ended week 3 with Kaleidoscope / SF filming out at John Madden's Goal Line Studio in Pleasanton CA.
OK, Week 4: I have to be quick, since I'm on a deadline and Doniphan's waiting, so here we go. Crossroads / LA, PM David Lambert, and PC Ryan Miller, team up for a shoot for "Torpicana." Minneapolis's Drive Thru Productions came to the Bay Area for a few days, filming for a project titled "All-star Weekend." Ending the month we had Amanda Steigerwald, USA Network, for a something called "Subaru Character," I have no idea what that means. Next month I start earlier on this, CHEERS to all.Posted on Mar 09, 2010 - 12:49 AM
