Simon Arrol graduated from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology with an honours degree in civil engineering. He later became a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers of Great Britain.
Arrol first spent 14 years in the worldwide dredging and marine civil engineering works trade, much of that with the Royal Bos Kalis Westminster Group.
In the 80’s he was appointed as the Managing Director of the famous British firm Camper & Nicholsons Marinas Ltd, responsible for the development and operations of their 6 marinas. He also expanded the company’s role as an international marina advisor and supervisor, and by 2004 he had undertaken assignments in twenty five nations on 4 continents.
From 2005 to 2007 Arrol was primarily based in the UAE and began the Island Global Yachting Dubai LLC, involved with the quickly growing marina trade in that region. Specifically he was answerable for designing the marinas on the Palm Island and at Dubai Festival City.
