• BoardHeads Are Anything But Bored "BoardHeads" is the most comprehensive movie ever about people who ride boards—surf, skate, sail, etc., etc., etc. Co-produced, co-written, directed, shot and edited entirely by Davo Weiss, "BoardHeads" takes us on a whirlwind tour of the constantly expanding number of ways that people ride boards. Circling the globe, Weiss' film visits "boardheads"—people who, of course, ride boards on land, sea, and air.
Lest anyone view boardheads through a glass darkly—judging them as narcissistic, solipsistic hedonists—Weiss focuses on the many charitable organizations and activities created and maintained by the 'global tribe' of board riders. He also features boardheads who ride despite or because of physical challenges from birth or injury—standard bearers of life, inspiring their world. Many of the people Weiss features could easily be the subject of their own documentary.
Narrated by Michael Madsen, "BoardHeads" features high production values, a non-stop soundtrack with music mirroring the aliveness of the riders, and the DVD includes a cornucopia of special features. The websites of the charitable organizations mentioned in the film are included in the credits.
Davo Weiss has created that rare documentary film that exudes joy from beginning to end. Now, please excuse me, I must get back to all those special features.D. Schwartz April 18, 2011
